Sweet Potato Fries Recipe

If you feel like mixing up your fry game, sweet potatoes offer different vitamins and minerals than classic white potatoes. They also have more Vitamin C, fewer calories, more fiber and fewer net carbs than a white potato, despite having more sugar.

Cut the sweet potatoes into 3 inch long sticks, and toss them with oil. Mix the spices and salt and pepper in a small bowl, and toss them with the sweet potatoes in a colorful bowl.

Spread them out on two rimmed baking sheets.

Bake until brown and crisp on bottom, about 15 minutes, then flip and cook until the other side is crisp, about 10 minutes.

ingredients:

  • 2 lbs sweet potatoes, peeled
  • 2 Tbs olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

directions:

  1. Heat oven to 400 F
  2. Cut the sweet potatoes into sticks ¼ to ½ inch wide and 3 inches long, and toss them with oil.
  3. Mix the spices and salt and pepper in a small bowl, and toss them with the sweet potatoes. Spread them out on two rimmed baking sheets.
  4. Bake until brown and crisp on bottom, about 15 minutes, then flip and cook until the other side is crisp, about 10 minutes. Serve hot.
