Are Zak Designs Products Microwave Safe?
One of the most common questions about their Zak Designs’ products is whether or not they are microwavable. Although each product is different, the majority of Zak Designs’ plates and bowls are made from melamine, which is NOT recommended for use in a microwave. While we understand that some people feel it would be more convenient to have a plate or bowl that you could use to both re-heat food and eat off of, we’ve found that the vast majority of our consumers who appreciate the durability of Zak’s products simply warm their food in a container approved for microwave use, then serve it on a durable Zak plate.
While the majority of Zak products are not recommended for use in the microwave, we do have several products that are completely microwave safe. Our Zakwave line is made from a revolutionary material that allows the products to maintain many of the properties of standard melamine, but provides the added benefit of allowing the products to be completely microwave safe! Zak also has a wide selection of ceramic mugs which are all suitable to be used in the microwave.
