This is a fun and easy way to show your patriotic side this 4th of July. You only need a few simple ingredients and your kids can help with the food prep—making for a great family activity! Just make sure they are being careful when skewering the fruit, I poked myself once or twice.

Strawberries or raspberries will work for the red portion of the flag, I happened to have more strawberries so that’s what I went with. I found the strawberries slightly difficult to line up at times because they vary in size, raspberries might look more uniform if you’re a perfectionist.
Make sure that the bananas are cut into thick enough slices so that they go on the skewer well. I found skewering the bananas from non-pointy end of the skewer to be easier.

Place the blueberries on your first few skewers having them go roughly 1/3 of the way down.

Make sure to alternate with your red and white fruits the rest of the way down and on your other skewers.
