Bugle Torch Snacks Recipe

Olympic Torches Snacks

I’m really excited. Not only is this my first blog post here on the ZAK Designs blog, but I also get to share a really fun appetizer and snack with everybody that is perfect during the Olympics.

Anybody who has ever watched the Olympics has probably dreamed of carrying the torch, running through small towns and waving the flame of victory!

Of course, only a small percentage of people will ever actually get to carry it.

While you might not be able to carry the real thing, you can make, and eat, these torches!

These little snacks are super easy to make and you can really pile them on if you have a large serving dish like the Zak Half Gallery Serving Tray.

Bugles snacks

All you need to make them is a bag of Bugles snacks and some roasted peppers. If you are in a rush, you could definitely just buy a jar of roasted red peppers and slice them up.

If you have the time though, it’s fun to roast your own peppers so you can use different colors.

Roasting red and yellow bell peppers

To roast my peppers, I just set them directly on my gas burner and crank it up to high! Once they are starting to char, I turn them and keep them on the heat until the skin is blistered all around.

If you don’t want to try this method, you can also roast them in a 500-degree oven for about 15 minutes or put them on a very hot grill and turn them regularly until the skin is blistered.

Peeled peppers in a bowl

Then put the peppers in a bowl and cover them with plastic wrap. Let the peppers steam for ten minutes. That will make them easier to peel.

To remove the skin, rinse the peppers under cool water until most of the skin comes off. Then you can slice off the stems, scoop out the seeds, and slice the peppers into very thin strips.

Then just stuff a few pieces of peppers into each Bugle and you have yourself some wonderful little torches!

After I made these, I held up one of the torches, admiring its pretty flame-like qualities. Then I ate it. Then I ate ten more..
