In the mid 1920’s Walt and his brother Roy made their way to Los Angeles, California in hopes of establishing their own animation studio. In a rented office building on Kingswell Avenue, The Disney Brothers Studio was born.

The Kingswell collection takes its inspiration from Walt Disney’s classic, “Sleeping Beauty.” In the animation process, the artist sets the stage by sketching out beautiful background imagery - in this case magnificently rendered tree branches. Note how the artist’s quick strokes of pencil are beautifully captured in this collection.

Following Walt’s footsteps of pioneering innovation and creativity, Zak developed a collection of dinnerware and serveware for today’s consumer. The second Kingswell line features a square shape and strong lines to evoke a masculine and contemporary feel. Zak combined melamine with reclaimed Rattan wood in an ground-breaking, patent-pending manufacturing process. The result is a line with real texture and strong artistic flare.

One of Walt Disney’s personal favorite animated films was Bambi. The inspiration behind the Fresco collection comes from a memorable sequence where Bambi experiences rain for the first time. Flashes of lightning bring a translucent quality to the flowers and surrounding fauna.

With the creation of Mickey Mouse in 1928 followed by successful films such as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Dumbo and Cinderella, the spotlight shined on Walt Disney throughout his illustrious career.
