• Do Zak Design products contain PVC, BPA and or Lead?

Each and every Zak product meets or exceeds all state, federal and international regulations regarding PVC, BPA and Lead contents and are unquestionably safe. • Zak Design products are made of melamine, is that safe?

Melamine has been approved by the FDA and safely used as a food contact substance for decades. Melamine is a durable, versatile, and completely safe, product. For more information about the safety of melamine, click here.  

• Why can't I microwave my melamine?

We recommend that melamine not be used in the microwave because of melamine's ability to retain heat. Melamine products that are microwaved can become extremely hot, which could be harmful to the product and the person handling it.

 

• What do the symbols on the back of the product mean?

The majority of Zak products are top rack dishwasher safe, however please visit the Care and Use Instructions on each individual product page for specific recommendations on how to care for each item. You can also look for the Dishwasher Safe symbol molded into the product or printed on the packaging for the recommended cleaning method.
